smart-sync is a MR compatible Doppler ultrasound system, which synchronizes the cardiac cycle with the image acquisition (“Gating”). smart-sync can be used with 1.5T and 3T MR systems from Siemens, GE and Philips.

Fetal Cardiac Gating
smart-sync unlocks for the first time fetal cardiac gating for clinical routine enabling high quality cardiac imaging with anatomical and functional information.
Adult Cardiac Gating
At the same time, smart-sync can be used as alternative to the ECG for all other cardiac MR scans and patient groups that require cardiac gating.
The Sensor Box is the core of smart-sync and can be used for 1.5T and 3T. The cardiovascular motion is detected using Doppler ultrasound and is translated into a gating signal using unique algorithms. Taking advantage of the Doppler effect, the Sensor Box detects any kind of cardiac motion.
The Sensor Box is wirelessly connected to a specially designed Connector Box to enable an easy wireless integration into every MR system of all vendors.
Using the touch display the fetal or adult application can be chosen. Also all settings can be easily changed including different algorithms.
The waveform of the ultrasound signal is shown to verify the detection of the heartbeat. The trigger is also shown at the moment when the trigger is sent to the MR system. The display shows the wireless connection status.
The Connector Box enables the connection to any MR system with smart-sync. The Sensor Box transmits all necessary information to the Connector Box.
The Connector Box is specifically designed to match the needs of every MRI system to integrate smart-sync in an easy and effective way.
Finding the heart of a fetus can be challenging but time is limited in clinical routine. To enable an effective and proven method to locate the fetal heart, we have developed a special MR compatible headphone to listen to the audio signal of the beating heart.
Using the headphones for fast and correct localization of the fetal heart ensures an easy workflow for every user.
The cable is specifically developed for MR compatibility and interference-resistance. The cable is not disturbed by the high magnetic field and connects the ultrasound transducer with the Sensor Box.
With our innovative technology for MRI compatibility, the cable can be used for 1.5T and 3T.
